I have seen on you tube soap makers making hybrid Soap to create a really nice creamy lathering bar of shave soap, it’s supposed to be hard when dry but when you add a little water and agitate with brush give a really good lather …

That’s a hard one! I haven’t made it in a long time, but I do remember using mostly high stearic or palmit if acid ingredients? I haven’t made it in a long time, but that’s what I remember. How much water did you use? Typically it’s quite a bit more than in regular soap, but it could be just a lot of water/liquid in there.

You used a lot of soft oils, with only palm oil and shea butter being hard. You didn’t use much water at all. Usually I see stearic acid added to these types of ingredients, and a lot more water, so I’m not sure what happened here besides not adding enough hard oils I’m afraid.

Good news is that it might make a very nice body wash if it never thickens.

Hi!

Your recipe has more soft oils than hard oils. You don't need Shea butter for a NaOH and KOH soap formula. Also your method of incorporating lye and oils are wrong. Your soap mixture will never set. I wonder if you could even use that mixture as a body lotion.

If you are interested in a simple workable recipe please contact me.

You can use shea butter in a dual lye soap, and you have no idea that she incorporated the lye and oils are ‘wrong’.
It won’t be a body lotion, but it could be a body wash.
Feel free to share recipes, but as always, please use a lye calculator and not a random recipe.

update : its been 13 days since I made this batch and it’s turned out amazing it has become solid but on adding a little bit of water it gives an amazing lather that is stable and even when the lather goes the clay leaves behind enough slip for the razor to glide over the skin ph test is fine too the only thing I don’t like is the fragrance (this I think is a personal choice ) the E/O I used just isn’t my cup off tea …. i Am in the process of recreating this recipe with a lady million dupe fragrance oil now I know what to expect 🤣😂
