I have my recipe all set with my lye/liquid discounts all calculated. I know based off of my recipe I have wiggle room to add another 126 grams of additives, however when I go to add lets say, aloe vera juice and hit no for water discount, it keeps changing the calculation for my original liquid discount. I have played around with when I add the juice and nothing seems to work. Here is the link to my recipe https://www.soapmakingfriend.com/recipes/102479.rose-infused-coconut-soap

Did you happen to look at the recipe I shared? I had my recipe formulated with the amount of liquid and lye I wanted to use. Then I took my total amount of oils multiplied by 35% which gave me a number that I had left over to use for additives. In this case, I wanted the additive to be coconut milk. I wanted that coconut milk to not be adjusted from the original liquid number I had. If there has to be a liquid discount then why does section 7 have a toggle allowing you to turn the discount off or on?
Here is an example. 870x35%=304 minus the suggested liquid amount that should be mixed with the lye in this case 240 g would leave room for 64 g of additional additives. In this case, I want to use coconut milk. Let me know if this is making sense?

After typing all of this out now, I’m wondering if section 7, supposed to be used custom liquid like if you’re mixing your lie with that liquid? Maybe section 6 would be if I’m using it only as an additive?. I may have answered my own question by typing out my last post.

Yes, the liquids are considered like other liquids and not additives, so they have their own section. You can make the choice to add them with the liquids (say, goat’s milk or aloe vera gel) or add at trace, etc, but they are always treated like liquids.
