Salt vs sodium lactate

Hi everyone
Lately I have realised salt is better than sodium lactate , the soap umolds fast with salt within 12 hours
Though not sure about what kind of characteristics the soap will have with salt
I am adding 1 tsp of salt for 1000 grams of oil , is it sufficient or should I add more
Please advise

Hello Karan,

Salt makes the soap harder and difficult to cut (it may crumble), so it is better to use it in molds where you do not need to cut, or to cut immediately after unmolding.

you can go up to 3% of the oil phase with salt (30 grams for 1000 grams of oil).

Keep in mind that you can use salt and sodium lactate simultaneously. Too much salt can result in less foam, while sodium lactate can improve the foam.
