Surfactant Question

[Odor Sensitive]

I planned to make a shampoo with a surfactant because I can lower the pH. Capryly/ Capryl Glucoside hurts my lungs - even only a 10% solution with nothing else. I boought 2 different brands - same thing.
Is Decyl Glucoside or Coco Glucoside any better? ... or can someone please direct me as to how to find out?
