Experimenting with making my own hair balm/mask. I've got the ingredients down (shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, argan oil, beeswax, vitamin E, rosemary oil, and tea tree oil). I'm not sure how long to leave it in, but I'll do some research and update you later. In the meantime, any tips would be appreciated!

I did three batches of soap just last week. The first batch was actually my first try on soap making. Started from scratch. No melt and pour for me. Used lye (NaOH). Result not so good. Many mistakes and errors. Learnt from them.

How do one post photos on this forum?

Looking forward to friendly comments and suggestions.
Hi I am just new to this and am loving it! Just doing melt and pour as a bit scared of the Lye!!! I need good scales. I need good sources and I need good advice. ❤️
Are you trying to report an issue with the oils not adding correctly? They look like they've added up correctly on our end, so I'm not sure of the problem. Can you explain?

Yes for example in the oil section one recipe in grams it says 50 almond oil, 10.1 beeswax, 25 caster oil, 64.9 cocoa butter, 75 coconut oil, and 275 olive oil equals 949.27... Im not the best with math sometimes but thats wrong. in % its 10+2.02+5+12.98+15+55=100. ill try and attach photos of a before and after recipe and theres post on the board complaining about things not being right.

Your total weight of oil is 500g not 949.27 as given by you. 949.27 will be the total weight of the batch of soap which includes lye solution and the fragrance. The percentage of almond oil is 10 which is 50g in weight.(10% of total oil 500g). Beeswax is 10.1g which is 2.02% of 500g total oil weight. So the formula is correct. If your total oil weight is 949.27 then tick the total oil weight box accordingly.

Insert the correct weight of your total oils in the soap calculator. From the wights of your oil the total is 500g and not 949.27.
