Liquid discount button

In the Custom Additive section, there is a button for a liquid discount once an additive is added. What's confusing is there is a liquid discount button for each additive. Why? If I add sugar, clay, and poppy seeds, I can select a liquid discount three times. Why isn't there only one button for a liquid discount for the whole recipe? I'm worried about discounting too much.

those items shouldn’t actually impact the liquid amount, so can be ignored.

A liquid discount for what? If you want to use less water, change the ratio in the top:
