I make some colorful, swirly soaps, but I also make some simple ones, that really are my favorite. This one is an Aleppo-type soap. I say "type," because - even though I use the same ingredients as traditional soap made in Aleppo, Syria (laurel berry fruit oil and olive oil) - I am not from there and I don't use the days long hot process method they have used for 3000 years! I have attached a pic of my soap and a pic from a soap factory in Aleppo. Sadly, since the war, many soapmakers have had to leave. But some are making soap elsewhere, and I hear a few have returned! I donate the proceeds from sales of this soap to Syrian Relief and Development: srd.ngo.
